The Ferris Wheel

ferris-wheel

The view from here reminds me
Of the plane ride the night before
You took my hand and sat silent
The wind gently rocks us now

Below carnival lights and childhood
Screams bekon us to return to them
But we are above them all

Unreachable

I long to freeze this moment
Pull the plug on the ride
But it continues on

Rotating us down and around
Back where we had begun
