This week’s show features a recording of an interview that I did with poet Gordon Buss over the weekend.  We had a great conversation about poetry, performing, sources of inspiration, and other topics. Gordon also shared three of his poems for us:

  • This Is All I Am
  • Is It Always Wrong
  • Dove

They are all wonderful pieces and I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Be sure to stop by Gordon’s poetry site, Ugly Dog Poetry, to read and experience some of his poetry.  Be sure to leave him a comment and let him know what you thought.

I’d love to read your comments below.

  • Gordon makes a very good point : poetry is not taught well in school! Instead, it is massacred, and dissected, and drained of all beauty. No wonder there aren't so many people writing poetry out there.

I loved listening to "This Is All That I Am". As Will said, it's a very vulnerable poem. It's beautiful. I liked the his other two poems very much as well, but, something about "This Is All That I Am" just grabbed me.

Gordon, I am a dyslexic poet too! I wonder how many dyslexic poets are out there.

    Great interview, Will!
  • Thanks for the comment, Jen! Especially those directed towards Gordon. "This Is All I Am" is a great piece.
