Paula
Thanks for the comment.
Yeah, I thought that was the perfect picture for the occasion.

I need to take one with my Mom, too...

Sandra
Thank you for a wonderful poem!
I hope I can recite it to your liking.

Will here is my submission for Second Sunday. Sorry it was down to the wire. I hope everyone enjoys it.

Sandra H. Miller-Salyer

Woman

There is beauty and peace found within Woman.
Daily her fragile hands mold the world,
as the tiny feet of our future leaders gather about her skirt for recognition and guidance.
Her single mission in life is that our race survives itself.
Without her amazing single minded character
our children and young adults would be left
to become statistics
or casualties of life.
How amazing she is
with the arms of the weaker sex is able to anchor the world.
Her determination is unconquerable.
When called to arms
she can actively lead, as well as, follow.
Woman is balance
in a world of confusion.
She is the medication that brings universal healing.
There is beauty and peace found within each woman.
One hears it when she speaks.
Her calm and assertive voice need not be raised.
Her manner observant and comforting.
There is so much beauty found within all women.
The artesian spend lifetimes trying to capture the essence of her.
Can anyone capture the essence of a woman?
The curve of her neck.
The softness of her breast.
The spark in her eyes.
The vastness of her heart.
The scope of her intellect.
How may one capture a spirit of light?
There is so much beauty found within all women.
Their souls have no boundaries.
When woman survives
hope survives
to see another day.
